Seating Arrangement
I chose to put my students in a group seating arrangement because I want them to be able to easily engage in partner talks, group assignments, and other collaborative activities with ease during instructional time. Putting students in groups will also allow students to meet and make new friends, thus allowing the class to build community as students get to know and grow more comfortable with each other. Having students in groups also ensures that students have peers who they can easily talk to if they have questions, and I am not readily available. Furthermore, the group layout also creates clear walkways in the classroom. This allows me to be able to use proximity as I teach, and it also allows me to easily access every student when needed.
